Kim Jae-shin was appointed as the vice chairman of the Fair Trade Commission in August. Kim, who graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with major in economics, started his career at FTC after passing the civil service exam in 1990. He received a master’s degree at KDI School of Public Policy and Management here and Michigan State University in the US, followed by a law doctorate from Chung-Ang University. Serving as the director general of competition policy bureau in 2018, he was in charge of drawing up a plan to overhaul the Fair Trade Act. While serving as secretary-general this year, he took the position of co-chairman of a joint public-private task force that creates guidelines for online platforms. Kim, a seasoned expert on policymaking on business practices, led various bureaus, including planning and coordination, business trade policy, cartel investigation.

Professor Kim Ran-do of the department of consumer studies at Seoul National University is the renowned author of the Trend Korea series. Since being appointed as head of Amazon Global Selling Korea in June 2019, Lee has been leading the global selling business in the country and fostering Korean sellers to strengthen their global presence through global selling. Lee had worked as Business Unit director at Mundipharma Korea in charge of consumer business. Lee’s previous posts include Nielsen Korea’s retail business department and Reckitt Benckiser’s headquarters in the UK where he led its e-commerce global sales team. From branding and marketing to e-commerce sales, Lee has over 15 years of experience and expertise Lee graduated from Seoul National University where he studied marketing.

Jamie Choi joined Samsung in 2012 and currently heads Samsung NEXT Korea, the innovation arm of Samsung Electronics. Before joining Samsung, Choi was the vice president of the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs.

Choi Yoon-sup is managing partner and the co-founder of Digital Healthcare Partners. He is also the director and founder of Choi Yoon-sup Digital Healthcare Institute. Choi is an affiliated professor at the department of digital health at Sungkyunkwan University’s Samsung Advance Institute for Health Science & Technology. He is also an adjunct assistant professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine’s Preventive Medicine & Public Health. Choi has been an angel investor for some 20 healthcare startups, giving out advice to the likes of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service and other consultative groups on innovative medical technologies and medical device evaluation.
